The education system in Taiwan is a little different from that in America. After 9-year obligated education, including 6-year elementary school and 3-year junior high school, most of we adolescents choose to take entrance examination of senior high schools, 5-year institutes of technology or commerce, or other professional schools. As you know, or you might not know, because of being the rank# 2 of population desity in the world, Taiwan has made every kind of entrance examination highly competitive. There are two major kinds of universities in Taiwan: public and private. Public universities are funded most by government, while the private ones raise their funds most by students and miscellaneous resource, such as religious associations, industrial & comercial cliques, etc. The public university names are prefixed by "National", while those of the private universities are varied. ...
