``solid-blob test'' -- run tests on solid-blob extract

 

purpose:
This is a test function. It is identical to ``solid-blob extract'' except that this function allows one to test the impact of varying individual parameters.

A chosen parameter is varied a number of times (as specified by ``number of iterations = '') using a specified increment (as specified by ``amount to increment parameter = ''). The function ``solid-blob extract'' is run for each value of the parameter. Each run generates an output volume called, for example, filename_v7, where filename is the name of the input volume and the prefix ``_v7'' indicates that the volume filename_v7 corresponds to the seventh iteration of ``solid-blob extract''.

Run this function in background mode!

input:
An 8-bit volume.
output:
A sequence of 8-bit volumes, one for each iteration. Also, the file ``invol.size'', which gives the sizes in voxels of the extracted regions; ``invol'' is the name of the input volume. One set of sizes will be in this file for each iteration of solid-blob test. If no input volume name is specified, a file called ``sizeXXXXXX'' is made, where XXXXXX is a computer-generated code like g56038.

The parameter ``param. to vary = '' , which toggles, set the parameter to vary during iterations. The parameters ``amount to increment parameter = '' and ``no. of iterations = '' also control the set up of a test. All else is identical to ``solid-blob extract''.
