``object separation'' -- separate connected objects

purpose:

Separate two large objects connected by a ``tube'' having diameter less than the specified number of voxels. The operation can be done in 2-D or 3-D. The input need not be binary valued (all voxels having gray-scale values >0 are treated as being a part of some object), but the output will be.

input:

An 8-bit volume.

output:

An 8-bit volume, containing binary-valued objects.

parameters:

Default parameters menu is

connectivity = no 3-D; 2-D
* smallest isthmus diameter = 7
* input from vol # = 0
* copy output to vol # = 0
